With less than 3 years until the new airport in Western Sydney opens for international, domestic and cargo flights, designs for a new business park – aimed at housing and providing services to airport workers and the first visitors – have been released.
Apart of the Western Sydney Airport Business Precinct Major Development Plan, the plan proposes a precinct concept that will deliver super lots, arterial road connections and an internal road network.
To be located within the north-eastern end of the Airport Business Precinct, the project includes:
Project site location within the 11,000-hectare Airport
In total, this precinct is about 20.9 hectares in area and
is zoned BD1 (Business Development Zone) which is reserved for onsite business
development.
Development costs for this stage are expected to be more
than $120 million, with construction expected to commence in late 2023 and completion
by late 2025.
Western Sydney Airport is a 11,000-hectare region set to
become Sydney’s third city – Western Parkland City. The new airport is
surrounded by 10 precincts, which focus on advanced manufacturing, technology,
research, training, education, freight and logistics, agribusiness and mixed-use
development.
With planning controls permitting up to 72-metre mixed-use
developments in some areas, Bradfield is expected to welcome 11,400 new homes
and 100,000 new jobs. With sky-high construction costs and low gross realisation
values for new apartments in Western Sydney, time will tell which major mixed-use
developer is prepared to take the first punt on Bradfield.
