Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport program. Services on the North West Metro Line between Rouse Hill and Chatswood started in May 2019 on this new standalone metro railway system, which will revolutionise the way Sydney travels.
Before the planning department’s assessment team is Sydney Metro’s over station development proposal at 5 – 7 Figtree Drive in Sydney Olympic Park. This site is owned by Sydney Metro and is known as Site 47 in the Sydney Olympic Park 2030 Master Plan.

The precinct seeks to establish parameters to attract more businesses and residents in a well-connected location reducing reliance on private transport modes whilst continuing to ensure Sydney Olympic Park can operate and function as a world class event and sporting precinct.
The new metro will consist of an underground station with an island platform in a north-south orientation for day-to-day mode, and two additional side platforms that would provide increased capacity in event mode. Customers would access the station from the main proposed public space running north-south between Herb Elliott Avenue and Figtree Drive.
