Unity Grammar College is proposing an 850-capacity school on 325 Sixth Avenue in Austral.
The proposed school will accommodate Kindergarten-Year 6 and will comprise the following features:
Access will be provided via a formed driveway off Sixth Avenue, as well as off Haybale Street once this street is extended through to Nemean Road. A future park forms the western boundary of the site.
The objective of the proposal is to transfer the existing junior students accommodating the existing college at 70 Fourth Avenue to a new, purpose-built, junior school.

Strategically, the site is suitable for a new school, given it is within a rapidly growing precinct where there is a strong demand for educational establishments. The locality is one which is undergoing rapid change, transitioning from rural residential land uses to higher-density residential development, comprising smaller housing lots.
Medium density residential land is located to the north and south of the site. A neighbourhood centre is located north of the site within the Leppington North Precinct.
The proposal is considered of State significance given the capital investment value is in excess of $20 million. The project is still at very early stages of the assessment process, with an environmental impact statement yet to be lodged with the planning department.
