Allen Jack + Cottier Architects recently revealed a concept design for a $111m world-class sporting and entertainment facility in between CommBank Stadium and Parramatta Leagues Club on O’Connell Street.
To be anchored by PCYC, the 5-storey building will include music and dance studios, a homework hub, indoor gyms, multi-sports courts, boxing facilities, a martial arts gym and before and after school care.
The sports and entertainment facility will perfectly complement CommBank Stadium’s forecourt, which dedication as communal open space has been quite successful, with people visiting the playground, the basketball courts and Hoops Coffee House at most hours of the day.
Having served the Parramatta community since 1962 in partnership with NSW Police, PCYC temporarily relocated from Hassall Street in 2016 to George Street to make way for an apartment tower.

The project will continue the record-high investment in public facilities and infrastructure in the River City’s CBD, including Parramatta Powerhouse, Sydney Metro, Parramatta Light Rail, CommBank Stadium and the Riverside Theatres.
Towards the end of 2022, CommBank cut a 7-year deal with the stadium’s operator, Venues NSW, for naming rights to the stadium.
CommBank Stadium is a 30,000-capacity rectangular stadium which boasts the steepest stands of any stadium of its type in Australia, bringing fans closer to the action.
