Holdmark’s proposal aims to provide a high-quality residential and commercial units, while enhancing the public realm both within and around the site, encouraging new life and activity to support the existing as well as emerging commercial businesses. The project will build on existing successes and assets of the area, such as the local train and bus interchange.
Strategically, the proponent-led rezoning is not the result of a council initiated strategic study or report. However, the site is of such a large size and magnitude that it is strategically significant within the context of Chester Hill.
Chester Hill is defined as a commercial and village centre under Canterbury-Bankstown LEP. Bankstown itself is the core commercial centre for the area and is located a short distance to the southeast of the site. The local area is connected by various transport modes, including road, rail and bus, standing as an established commercial and service centre in the local context.
