Pondicherry is the historical name of the farm that is being rezoned by the Perich family to accommodate over 2,200 new homes.
Located within the South West Growth Area, Pondicherry comprises 242 hectares of land and will accommodate up to 8,830 people, forming a natural extension of the Oran Park project, which will offer a high level of self-containment through a range of living options, schools, shops, community facilities, open space and employment opportunities.
Presently, the precinct is zone for rural purposes, but the Perich family are pioneering a proposal to rezone the land for a range of uses, including 2,200 new homes. A large bulk of the precinct will comprise small lot housing, as well as rear loaded attached dwellings with some apartment and mixed-use buildings surrounding the high amenity afforded by the Lake Precinct.
