On public exhibition is School Infrastructure NSW’s proposal to develop a new public school for 600 K– 6 students on Macquarie Road in Rouse Hill.
To be known as Tallawong Public School, the new primary school will provide modern fit-for-purpose educational facilities for 600 students that maximise amenity and sustainability, including state-of-the-art teaching facilities and outdoor learning spaces. A range of active and passive, structured and unstructured play spaces have been considered in the proposal.
Located within Stage 1 of the Riverstone East rezoning precinct, the 12,710 square metre site is zoned for medium density residential development. However, with Rouse Hill undergoing major change in recent years, including the development of major transport options, there is strong demand for a new primary school in the catchment.
The NSW government is investing $8.8 billion in school infrastructure over the next 4 years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In early 2019, the government committed to build a new primary school in Tallawong to cater for the rapidly growing population within Tallawong and Rouse Hill.
