A Burwood Council-led planning proposal has now been finalised with the Burwood LEP officially being amended.

Council sought a group heritage listing under Schedule 5 of those dwellings within the Appian Way Heritage Conservation Area that are intact and representative of Federation era dwellings.

Council’s heritage advisor determined that the group of properties consist of rare Federation Queen Anne (sometimes referred to as Edwardian Bungalow) precinct of architectural and constructional experience.

Properties within the Appian Way Conservation Area that have not met the threshold were excluded from the planning proposal but will continue to have heritage protection as part of the conservation area.
