Montefiore’s exciting plans to expand its seniors housing offering in Randwick have been given the tick of approval by the NSW planning department.

With the approval issued on 1 October 2024, the project centres on the construction of a new part five, part six storey building, known as Building D, on an underutilised portion of the Montefiore Campus at 100 – 120 King Street and 30 – 36 Dangar Street in Randwick.

The approval will see 37 x independent living units and 6 x new residential care rooms to the Randwick Campus, bringing the total residential care facility capacity to 277 x rooms. The plans also include new communal spaces, retail areas and administrative offices.

This development will be located on a 4,220 sqm portion of land within the southeastern corner of the 2.94-hectare campus. This expansion will further enhance the site’s ability to cater to a range of aged care needs, while maximising the use of existing land.

Montefiore Randwick is well-serviced by high-frequency public transportation options, including the L2 Light Rail and numerous bus routes along Alison Road. These transport links provide seniors with direct access to Sydney’s CBD and surrounding suburbs.

Montefiore has a well-established reputation for delivering world-class aged care services across Greater Sydney. The Randwick campus, home to the Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home, is a key part of its extensive network, providing specialist in-home care, day centres and onsite accommodations ranging from high-care residential facilities to independent retirement living.
