School Infrastructure NSW, a NSW Government agency, has lodged plans to redevelop Marsden High School in West Ryde into a new 2-storey 5000sqm indoor spaces facility.
Estimated to cost about $30m, the project will have 32 outdoor netball courts, 4 indoor basketball courts, a gym, offices, a kiosk, storage spaces and a first aid room.
The plans come after Marsden High School was relocated from West Ryde to a new campus at the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct earlier this year.
The supporting complex will be accessible for community use, as well as sport camps, holiday programs and tournaments.
PCYC NSW has been awarded the management contract.
The population of Ryde is forecast to increase substantially over the next 10 years and according to the planning documents, there’s a shortage of recreational facilities in the local government area, particularly indoor sporting facilities.
