Chatswood is undergoing a major retail transformation with a list of key sites set to be redeveloped into new shopping and commercial hubs.

First is 272 Victoria Avenue – an $18.3m proposal before Willoughby Council to reposition an office building into a new retail complex.

Located across the road from Chatswood Chase, the project will involve demolishing vacuum cleaner store, Godfreys, and constructing 5 levels of retail and commercial space, along with outdoor terraces.

Next on the list is the $295m redevelopment of Chatswood Chase, owned by Vicinity Centres.

Work on this project is expected to start at the end of this year with features including a new and expanded food court, offices and a luxury shopping precinct.

A $45m DA to turn 282 – 284 Victoria Avenue also into a new and retail unit complex is the subject of a NSW Land and Environment Court appeal.

A new Woolworths is also nearing completion at Smith Street and new retail areas are also proposed within the Mandarin Centre.
