Kingswood’s historic pub will soon be bulldozed to make way for a mixed-use building, including a new pub, bottle shop and 133 apartments.
Located at 180 Great Western Highway and 26 Rodgers Street, the project will comprise of 2 x towers ranging from 5 – 8-storeys.
26 Rodgers Street is a vacant L-shaped parcel of land. Being part of Stage 1, it will contain a 5-storey building with 2 x ground floor commercial tenancies and a bottle shop fronting Wainwright Lane, as well as 54 residential apartments. So locals don’t miss out on their schooners, a temporary pub will be located on the ground floor of this building until the new pub is built on 180 Great Western Highway.

180 Great Western Highway forms part of Stage 2.
Stage 2 will comprise a lounge and hotel with primary frontage to Great Western Highway and wrapping around the site to Bringelly Road. Outdoor dining associated with the pub use is proposed on the Bringelly Road frontage to provide an active street frontage. A bistro will be provided at the southeastern end of the site and 79 residential apartments will sit on top.
Sitting on 3768 square metres of mixed-use land, the project is a unique opportunity to redevelop a significant landholding directly opposite Kingswood Station.
The project complements and responds to the Think Bond Kingswood Place Plan. This plan identifies 4 x neighbourhood blocks across the suburb and this site is located within the ‘Central’ neighbourhood, being the core of Kingswood with a mix of uses, including commercial and high and medium density residential uses.
