Construction is well underway on a $48 million Bunnings Warehouse at the intersection of Warringah, Allambie and Rodborough roads.

Once complete in 2025, the new store will boast 5-levels, with levels 1 – 2 comprising a 400 car spaces and levels 3 – 5 including hardware and building supplies, an outdoor garden centre, a large café and kids playgrounds.

Originally, the Northern Beaches Council did not agree to have a giant Bunnings outlet on the site given the difficulty with vehicular access. However, Bunnings reached agreement with Council to move the store’s main driveway to Rodborough Road. Traffic lights will be installed and the logo / signage will be reduced to 33% of the original size so as to not distract drivers.

However, the community is still raising traffic concerns, particularly with Forest High School set to be built 400-metres away on Allambie Road.

Local outlets in the area include at Warringah Mall, Belrose, Balgowlah and Narrabeen.

Previously sitting on 21,750 square metre site was an Australia Post distribution centre and a two-storey office block, both of which have now been bulldozed.
