The suburb of Cobbitty continues to grow as development in the region continues.

Plans have been lodged by Aldi Stores Australia with Camden Council to construct an Aldi store with carparking at 3 Kakadu Street to run from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week with delivery hours to run the delivery dock operating 24 hours. The centre will also contain 8 speciality retail tenancies.

The site is located within the South West Growth Area – an area transitioning from predominately rural zones and land uses to master planned communities containing a mix of residential, commercial and industrial land.

Aldi is a hard discounter and sells approximately 1800 basic grocery and household items. This differs from larger supermarkets, such as Coles and Woolworths that can sell in excess of 25,000 items.

Data analysed by PwC as part of Aldi’s Price Report confirms that Aldi is 15.6% cheaper than other supermarkets, meaning an average family can save $1555 per year.
