Carnes Hill Shopping Centre with various PAD sites

Carnes Hill was completed and became operational in 1999. The original marketplace was developed by Woolworths, who acquired the site from Inghams. The site was once land upon which chicken sheds operated by Inghams until the mid-1990s, at which time the sheds were demolished and the land remediated.

Stage 1 of the centre included the Woolworths supermarket and circa 20 speciality shops. In 2007, the Stage 2 expansion involved the addition of Big W, 26 new speciality retail tenants and a total of 926 carparking spaces.

Relatively recently, Charter Hall also sought Liverpool Council’s consent to construct a new standalone building on two vacant lots fronting Cowpasture Road for a Dan Murphys liquor store.

Sitting on over 65,000 square metres, the perimeter of the subregional shopping centre includes several vacant lots, fronting Cowpasture Road and Kurrajong Road, which have also been developed for a service station, Domino’s pizza and medical centre.
Liverpool Council has developed to the north of the site the Michael Clarke Recreation Centre, Carnes Hill Library and Carnes Hill Community Centre.
